Match Report

Conceicao has been called in to get Milan's ailing season back on track, and he enjoyed a fine start with an unexpected victory in Friday's semi-final in Riyadh.

Juventus led in the 21st minute through Kenan Yildiz, who only started after Francisco Conceicao, Sergio's son, was injured in the warm-up.

Milan did not respond until the 71st minute and required a favour from former player Manuel Locatelli to do so, with the midfielder fouling Christian Pulisic for a penalty the felled forward scored himself.

The turnaround was then complete four minutes later when Federico Gatti unwittingly deflected Yunus Musah's right-wing cross into the net.

A shell-shocked Juve could not muster a riposte of their own, and Milan can look forward to facing Inter on Monday.

Data debrief: Bianconeri finally beaten

Unbeaten in Serie A this season, this was Juventus' first domestic defeat – albeit played in Saudi Arabia – since April, and they may well feel it came from nowhere.

Milan ultimately generated a higher expected goals figure than their opponents (1.55 to 1.02) but had offered little until Locatelli's foul let them back into the tie. Conceicao's side will surely have to go up another level to defeat Inter.

The night belonged to the new Milan boss, though, when it should have been Yildiz's to celebrate. The 19-year-old surprise starter became the second-youngest Supercoppa scorer after an 18-year-old Mario Balotelli for Inter in 2008.

19&244 - Kenan Yildiz (19 years and 244 days) is the second youngest scorer in the Italian Super Cup, after Mario Balotelli (18 years and 12 days in Inter-Roma on August 24, 2008). Star.#JuveMilan #EASPORTSFCSupercup
