Juventus offer Paul Pogba £135,000-a-week deal in bid to re-sign midfielder from Manchester United

Juventus have offered former Manchester United star Paul Pogba a three-year contract with basic net salary worth around £135,000 a week, plus bonuses.

Further talks between player and club are expected next week before the 29-year-old makes his decision.

The French World Cup-winning midfielder has left United as a free agent upon the expiry of his contract this summer, meaning Juve can sign him for nothing.

The Italian giants had signed Pogba, also on a free, in 2012 when he failed to agree terms at Old Trafford before the Premier League side signed him back for £89m - only now to see him walk away without receiving a fee again.

That salary would put him in Juventus' highest bracket of earners, but given they are not paying a transfer fee, they are likely to feel it represents value for money. Pogba is also thought to be keen to be reunited with his former boss Massimiliano Allegri.

It is reported lawyer Rafaela Pimenta, who has taken over as Pogba's agent after Mino Raiola passed away, will be in Turin in the coming weeks to formalise the deal.

Juventus are understood to be confident of making the deal happen, but if things fall through Paris Saint-Germain remain in the wings, with fellow European giants Real Madrid and Manchester City also said to have been previously interested.

There are also suggestions are an announcement may tie into the Amazon Prime film on Pogba, entitled 'The Pogumentary', set to be released on 17 June.

Juan Mata, also released by United on Thursday, will assess all his options - including staying in the Premier League - with the Spaniard keen to remain playing rather than move into coaching yet.
