Juventus 'to offer Douglas Costa to Man City as makeweight in Jesus deal'

Italian giants Juventus are prepared to offer winger Douglas Costa to Manchester City as a makeweight in a deal to sign Gabriel Jesus, according to reports.

Jesus is enjoying a fine season with 18 goals and nine assists in 39 appearances but still finds himself behind the evergreen Sergio Aguero in the striker pecking order at the Etihad.

As a result, despite insisting he is happy at the club, the Brazilian has been repeatedly linked with a move away in recent weeks, with Juventus appearing as the most likely destination.

The Old Lady are said to be after a new striker to partner Cristiano Ronaldo, due to the disappointing form of Gonzalo Higuain and after failing to dominate Serie A this season like they've become accustomed to.

Jesus is one of several names to be linked with a move to Turin and, according to CalcioMercato, Juve may offer Costa to the Blues to try and sweeten a deal.

The tricky winger has fallen out of favour this season and has only made 18 appearances but he did enjoy great success while playing under Pep Guardiola at Bayern Munich.

It's claimed that Juventus are probing City about Jesus' availability and could play the 'Costa card' to try and secure the striker.

While Jesus' agent, Giovanni Branchini, recently refused to rule out that the 23-year-old could move to Juventus in the future, he did confirm that he would only leave the club if he was no longer wanted.
