The Bayern Munich squad held their traditional lederhosen photoshoot on Tuesday but recent signing Harry Kane had the perfect excuse for missing the event.

Kane was back in England, where his wife Kate gave birth to a boy, Henry, on Sunday. Henry is the Kanes' fourth child together after daughters Ivy, 6, and Vivienne, 5, and son Louis, 2.

The striker signed for Bayern from Tottenham on August 12 and scored his first goal for the club against Werder Bremen in the first game of the Bundesliga season.

Although Kane wasn't present for the lederhosen photoshoot, another new arrival, Kim Min-jae, took part after joining from Napoli. Raphael Guerreiro and Konrad Laimer, who arrived on free transfers, were also involved.

Kim told Bayern's official website: 'It's a long time since I've worn lederhosen, but I have childhood photos in the classic 'drop fly' lederhosen. I feel very comfortable in the Bavarian clothing and am really looking forward to the Oktoberfest visit with our team'.

Bayern players including Manuel Neuer, Thomas Muller and Alphonso Davies were seen dressed in lederhosen.

Oktoberfest, which is held in Munich, will take place between September 16 and October 3.

It includes a beer festival and a travelling carnival, with over six million people attending the event each year.

Although they lost 3-0 to RB Leipzig in the final of the German Super Cup, Bayern responded with a 4-0 win away to Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga. Their next game is at home to Augsburg on August 27.

Bayern boss Thomas Tuchel praised Kane following his goal against Werder Bremen.

'If you see him finishing in training you know why he finishes in the matches because he does all the time the same', the Bayern manager said speaking to ESPN.

'It's so clinical, it's so calm. such a lot of composure. The guy is a top guy. He's a top player. He's a fantastic personality and makes players around him better so very happy he's here. Fantastic finish, good goal.

'It's a big signing and we're very excited to work with him actually because it's huge and it's good for us '.
