Harry Kane has been photographed in Tottenham training appearing to have bulked up after a rigorous pre-season under manager Antonio Conte.
Tottenham's talisman, who wished to depart the club last summer but has enjoyed something of a renaissance under the Italian coach, appears to have returned to training after Spurs's pre-season trip away more muscular.
Reports have been circulating of double fitness sessions and painstaking fitness exercises for the Spurs players this summer, with Conte wishing to make his squad fitter as they look to build on a promising end to the season.
With the players back from their pre-season tour to Korea and having played a game away at Rangers at Ibrox, they were back at the club's training base and it gave Kane and his fellow players a chance to flaunt their physiques.
Side-by-side photos appear to show Kane having put on quite a significant amount of muscle mass during the summer. Conte, having won league titles with the likes of Mirko Vucinic, Diego Costa and Romelu Lukaku up front, is known to like physically dominant centre-forwards.
It is unclear whether or not Conte has personally instructed Kane to put on muscle mass.
Kane has something of a reputation for starting season's slowly, having only scored four goals in August across his career with Spurs so far. His goal against Fulham during the first month of the 2018-19 broke a run of over 1,000 minutes without a goal in August.
Last season, Kane endured a difficult few months at the start of the campaign having campaigned for a move away from the club for much of the summer. By New Year's Day, he had only scored four times in the league.
Conte revived Kane's season after he arrived and the Englishman finished with a respectable 17 league goals. Conte will want his talisman to hit the ground running from the off this season and his fitness will likely be key to that.
Kane is not the only Spurs player to have been put through rigorous exercises this summer, with footage and pictures emerging showing players lying in heaps on the ground after being made to run multiple lengths of the pitch in the sweltering Korean heat by their manager.
Son Heung-min was photographed collapsed on the floor while Kane himself was reported to have thrown up after being put through his paces in Korea.
Spurs went from 20th in terms of distance covered per game under Nuno Espirito Santo (100km) to top the standings (115km) under Conte and the Kane pictures only display that the Italian will expect more of the same from his players this coming campaign as they look up at the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City.
