It was a busy transfer deadline day for Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga, as he secured a key deal by announcing his engagement to girlfriend Andrea Martinez.
The 27-year-old confirmed his romance with the Spanish model in January after reportedly dating her for some time.
Martinez, 30, won Miss Universe Spain in 2020 before competing at Miss Universe in Las Vegas.
She is also a former standout basketball star who was selected for the Spanish U15 team in 2006, while her Instagram bio says she is a 'certified plasmologist'.
Kepa shared news of their engagement with an Instagram post on Thursday evening, with the caption: 'SHE SAID YES'.
Martinez's comment is pinned underneath the post and translates to 'Yes! Yes! Yes! I always love you'.
Former Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech was among those to send well wishes the couple as he commented 'Enhorabuen', which is 'Congratulations' in Spanish.
Ross Barkley, who left the Blues by mutual consent earlier this week, said: 'Congrats bro'.
Meanwhile, West Ham midfielder Pablo Fornals commented: 'Oleeeee guapos, enhorabuena' ('Bravo handsome, congratulations').
Kepa and Martinez have shared plenty of loved-up posts over the last eight months, while the model defended her boyfriend in March after he missed the decisive penalty in Chelsea's Carabao Cup final shoot-out defeat to Liverpool.
Alongside a photo of the goalkeeper's team-mates consoling him, she wrote: 'One of the things I've learnt when I was a basketball player was that a team is always a team. There are no heroes, there are no villains.
'In my personal opinion this is a very unfair situation and I'm not just talking about today. Real supporters must show the love today, not just when we win.
'@kepaarrizabalaga we are so proud of you, as a goalkeeper and even more as a person.
'Humble, brilliant, kind, generous, intelligent, hard worker, talented and the most beautiful soul I've ever met.
'This is just the small line of a huge book. Let's go my boy, let's go guys. Love you.'
Kepa has been left on the bench in all of Chelsea's opening five Premier League matches of the season as he continues to play understudy to no 1 goalkeeper Edouard Mendy.
The 11-cap Spanish international was linked with a switch to Italian side Napoli earlier in the transfer window but failed to secure a move away from Stamford Bridge before yesterday's 11pm deadline.
