After a record fourth straight Premier League title, it would seem Manchester City's squad needs little in the way of upgrading this summer.
But with several high-profile names potentially ready to move on this summer, City and boss Pep Guardiola - in what is likely to be his last season in charge - will oversee further evolution of arguably the world's best squad.
Playmaker Kevin De Bruyne, one of the greatest players in City's history, has admitted he would be tempted by the huge sums of money on offer to players who go to the Saudi Pro League.
De Bruyne, who turns 33 in a couple of weeks, missed the first five months of last season with a serious hamstring injury and may decide the time has come to leave after nine illustrious years at the Etihad, during which time he has become a club and Premier League legend.
Newcastle's Bruno Guimaraes, who has a £100million release clause, is the likely replacement should De Bruyne leave, with Bayern Munich's Jamal Musiala and RB Leipzig's Dani Olmo also on City's radar.
City goalkeeper Ederson has also been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia, after seven years at City, with some high-ranking figures at the Etihad convinced the Brazilian wants to leave this summer.
With back-up keeper Stefan Ortega having signed a contract extension earlier this month and proved his worth with 20 appearances last season and impressing when called upon, the loss of Ederson may not be so keenly felt at City if he were to leave.
Two other big names who could be on their way from City are Jack Grealish and Bernardo Silva, the latter linked with a move away every summer, for lifestyle rather than football reasons, although his enduring value to Guardiola's side means that the club are likely to fight hard to keep him.
A reputed £50m release clause in the contract extension he signed last year might make that tricky, with Barcelona and Paris St Germain remaining interested in the 29-year-old Silva.
Grealish is a different case entirely. After being a key player in City's Treble-winning season, he lost his way last season, injuries, poor form and a lack of focus leaving him on the periphery of Guardiola's side and ultimately costing him his place in England's Euro 2024 squad.
Having paid Aston Villa £100m for Grealish in 2021, City would do well to recoup half of that amount for the 28-year-old, in whom Guardiola lost faith last season. While publicly backing Grealish to rediscover the form that made him undroppable the season before last, City would certainly be tempted by an offer in the region of £50m for the erstwhile England winger.
Grealish's poor form and enforced absences through injury was compounded by the impact made in his position on the left by new signing Jeremy Doku, who superseded him in the City pecking order.
Doku's success on the left last season may see City move to sign a new right winger, with Crystal Palace's Michael Olise and Pedro Neto of Wolves potential targets, although the former is being targeted by Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal.
