Kleberson reveals why Fred and McTominay combine well at Man Utd

Kleberson believes Manchester United midfielder Fred is like a new signing for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side this season.

The former Brazil midfielder spoke about how his fellow countryman is thriving in the current United midfield and how he's been hugely helped by Scott McTominay.

The pair have developed a good understanding in the absence of Paul Pogba due to injury and with Ander Herrera having left United for PSG in the summer.

And Kleberson told MEN Sport exclusively via BetOclock why the two make for such a good combination.

"Fred and McTominay work very well together," he said.

"But Fred is like a new player for Man United this season and offers more to the team now.

"The pace he shows in all areas helps him recover in defence but also play quickly in the middle third to start attacks. He's always involved in the game and that helps to complement McTominay's game as well.

"The midfield partnership has given the team balance and defensive protection, which allows the forwards to have freedom in attack."

Solskjaer may continue to lean on Fred and McTominay, with Pogba doubtful for this weekend's clash with Watford.

The two were instrumental in guiding United to recent big victories over Tottenham and Man City.
