Klopp could play a key role in whether Arsenal sign Sesko next summer

This summer Arsenal made a significant move to sign Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig, one of Europe's next big goal scoring talents.

Unfortunately for Arsenal, Sesko decided that he wanted to stay in the Bundesliga for one more year at least, emulating the patience that Erling Haaland showed at Borussia Dortmund.

Ultimately, Arsenal weren't desperate to bring in a striker this summer, signing Sesko was seen as an opportunity too good to ignore rather than an essential move.

And that explains why the Gunners may be willing to wait to sign the Slovenian in 2025.

That being said, TBR Football understands that new Red Bull global head of soccer Jurgen Klopp will now play a key role in Sesko's future.

Jurgen Klopp has the power to stop Arsenal signing Benjamin Sesko next year

Klopp will immediately be tasked with handling a tricky situation at Leipzig in which the club do not want to lose both of their star strikers in 2025.

As a result, Klopp is unlikely to sanction the sales of both Sesko and Lois Openda next summer.

As mentioned, Sesko decided against leaving Leipzig last summer and opted to remain in Germany, penning a fresh five-year deal.

Heading into 2025, links between Sesko and England remain very strong – and it's not just Arsenal in the mix.

Chelsea and Manchester United are also long-term admirers, whilst Manchester City have maintained a watching brief.

Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona are all amongst those looking at Sesko too.

However, Leipzig are not a one man team by any stretch of the imagination and they are also blessed with the talent of 24-year-old Openda, who is on the radar of many clubs.

Leipzig do not want to lose both, and that decision will now rest with Klopp.

Lois Openda is also on Arsenal's radar

Interestingly, Opena is also someone who Arsenal looked at last summer, along with Chelsea.

Man City and Liverpool are also believed to hold a long-standing interest in the Belgian striker, who has often showcased his talent in the Champions League.

Therefore it shouldn't be a surprise that PSG and Bayern Munich are also turning their eye towards Openda.

It's a strange turn of events that Klopp could play such a pivotal role in Arsenal signing Sesko next season, a time when some Liverpool fans may hope that he prevents their rivals from securing a deal.

And perhaps if Liverpool are planning to make a move for Openda in the future, then Klopp choosing to keep Sesko at the club could benefit Arsenal's rivals two-fold.
