After the first round of the World Cup, Kroos shared his views on the matches during a live broadcast.

On England, Bellingham, and Kane
Kroos stated: "I can say one thing first—England has entered my top three favorites to win the championship based on their performance in the first match. The reason is not only their 4-2 victory over Croatia, but more importantly, I saw an England team completely different from the one at Euro 2024. Although they reached the final then, in my opinion, they didn't fully deserve that result, but they did reach the final."
He continued: "This team is completely different from back then. Their style of play has changed completely, especially in transitions between attack and defense. Furthermore, the vitality and impact Bellingham showed in this match exceeded his entire last season at Real Madrid. Obviously, he is now fully recovered, or rather, has completely unleashed himself. Of course, there could be many reasons behind this."
Kroos invited his friend, former England star Ferdinand, as a guest on the show. Speaking about Kane, Kroos said: "In my opinion, he is currently the most complete finisher in the world when it comes to heading and shooting. His ball control is exceptional. Yes, I can say this—if England continues to play like this, they are definitely one of the favorites to win the championship."
On Germany
Kroos also shared his opinion on Germany's upcoming second group stage match in the World Cup, taking place on Saturday.
He said: "This will certainly be an opponent of a completely different level compared to Curaçao. The key to the match lies in our ability to compete physically. I believe Germany will have superior structure and technical quality. If we can match our opponents physically and do a good job of limiting their counter-attacks, then I believe we can win. I think Germany is strong enough that Côte d'Ivoire cannot defend all threatening attacks for 90 minutes."
When asked for a score prediction, Kroos replied: "3-1!"
