Major League Soccer is having a glamorous summer, and one of its standout signings is Rodrigo De Paul’s move to Inter Miami – a deal that not only bolsters the league’s profile but also paves the way for other major stars to follow.

One of the hottest names gaining traction in recent hours is Heung-Min Son, with LAFC pushing hard to land the South Korean forward. According to information obtained by AS USA Latino, LAFC’s general manager John Thorrington recently traveled to negotiate directly for the Spurs attacker.

Talks are said to be progressing smoothly, and sources confirmed to AS USA that LAFC is now ironing out final details with both Son and Tottenham in hopes of sealing his arrival in Los Angeles.

However, fans eager to see Son in black and gold might have to wait a little longer. The forward is not expected to take part in the Leagues Cup, but LAFC is targeting an August arrival as a clear objective.

Son’s signing continues to gather momentum at Inter Miami, who are doubling down in their pursuit of the Europa League winner with Spurs. He is expected to fill one of the club’s open Designated Player slots.

LAFC looking for more signings besides Son

Heung-Min Son is not the only marquee target on LAFC’s radar. The front office is reportedly working on bringing in at least three or four additional signings, with up to five new players potentially joining the squad this summer. The club is looking to maximize its remaining International and Designated Player slots.

Among those being targeted is Thomas Müller, who could join Son on the team’s DP roster following recent departures like Olivier Giroud and Javairô Dilrosun.
