Frank Lampard stunned passers-by as he took his coaching staff out on a Sunday morning run in Manchester ahead of Chelsea's clash with Manchester United.

The 41-year-old donned full training kit as he hit the pavements at 8:30 am this morning for a 40-minute, 7-mile run across the city.

Lampard was joined by assistant manager Jody Morris and fitness coach Chris Jones as they worked up a sweat on a cold, overcast morning in the north-west.

The run was the perfect way for the former England international to clear his head as he prepares to take charge of his first Premier League game as a manager against Manchester United.

Since his appointment, he's been keen to set an example to his players and maintain the fitness from his playing days by leading his staff on punishing runs.
