Everton secured a crucial three points in their battle to avoid relegation from the Premier League as they beat Newcastle United 1-0 on Thursday night.
Alex Iwobi found the back of the net deep in second-half stoppage time to send the Everton supporters into a frenzy on a chaotic night at Goodison Park.
An uneventful first half burst into life at the interval, which was sparked by a fan tying themselves to the goalpost with a cable tie around their throat, leading to a seven-minute stoppage.
The first major chance of the night fell Newcastle's way after 70 minutes, as Bruno Guimaraes unleashed a fierce effort inside the box which Asmir Begovic tipped wide.
With 83 minutes on the clock, Allan Saint-Maximin broke forward but was scythed down by a vicious challenge from Allan, which saw the midfielder shown a red card after a VAR review.
But deep into stoppage time, Dominic Calvert-Lewin slipped Iwobi through, who lashed home a left-footed strike into the bottom corner.
