Paddy Power have paid tribute to the announcement of the Premier League fixtures and Leeds return to the top-flight by referencing Marcelo Bielsa's infamous 'Spygate' antics in their latest advert.
Former Leeds legends Brian Deane, Tony Dorigo and Gordon Strachan feature in the hilarious advert that refers to the time the club were fined £200,000 after Bielsa admitted on spying on all his opponents.
Chelsea boss Frank Lampard - who previously dubbed Leeds as 'unethical' while managing Derby during the scandal - will now face Bielsa once again on December 5th following the announcement of the 2020-2021 fixtures today.
The advert takes place at Chelsea's training ground in Cobham with Brian Deane hiding out in the bushes with a pair of binoculars.
Having been spotted and identified as 'Leeds' by security, he turns to the camera with a smirk and says: 'We’re back…We’re back baby.'
Former Leeds United defender Tony Dorigo soon appears from shrubbery holding a professional camera and calls Gordon Strachan - who is located inside The Whites office with a Bielsa impersonator.
Dorigo refers to the spying as 'Operation Barclays' on the phone, saying his team are 'in position'.
Acting as the middleman, Strachan turns to the Bielsa lookalike and exclaims: 'You’re right chief, the security in this league is a joke.'
The advert also incorporates the Leeds United song that pokes fun at manager Frank Lampard by having the lyrics 'Stop crying Frank Lampard’ on the whiteboard in the office.
The song - that takes inspiration from Oasis song 'Stop Crying Your Heart Out' - looks at the funnier side of the scandal and calls for Lampard to 'try not worry' about their spies.
Paddy Power ran with the joke, finishing the advert with Bielsa uttering the words: 'Stop crying Premier League, we’re back'
