Leeds United have unveiled new stadium development designs on the back of their promotion back to the Premier League.
The club have reached the promised land once again after two years away, securing a return under Daniel Farke following their heartbreaking play-off final defeat by Southampton last year.
The 49ers Enterprises consortium, who run Leeds, took over the club back in 2023, and they now have big plans for the club, which appear to be based on the expansion of their current Elland Road pad.
Plans were outlined in September 2023 to build around the ground, with the club saying they are looking to 'modernise and improve the stadium'.
The Leeds City Council's Executive Board unanimously agreed the vision last week and the club have said that councillors will now start discussing the pre-application at a Plans Panel meeting on Thursday May 8.
The view is to increase the stadium capacity to 56,500, though it is estimated the final capacity of the design in progress is 53,000.
Both the West and North stands will be revitalised at the ground, with the South Stand also set to be improved.
Leeds say the improvements 'will provide greatly improved general admission and hospitality facilities, to help meet the demand for tickets'.
There are currently 26,000 supporters on the waiting list for season-tickets and every home game has been sold out for the past six seasons.
Leeds regained full ownership of Elland Road last year for the first time since 2004 and now plan to make it among the best in Europe. The expansion will meet UEFA's Category 4 regulations for 'elite' stadia.
