Leeds United will sharpen their focus on a new manager this week and want a candidate who has Premier League and Championship experience.
Ideally, following their relegation from the Premier League, Leeds would prefer an appointment that did not require compensation.
That would appear to rule out former coach Carlos Corberan.
The West Bromwich Albion manager is well-known at Leeds from his time as a coach working alongside Marcelo Bielsa.
He has a release clause understood to be around £2m and has yet to manage in the top flight.
Former Bournemouth and Fulham boss Scott Parker, Daniel Farke, formerly of Norwich City, and ex-Crystal Palace manager Patrick Vieira remain among the leading contenders being considered by Leeds' new owners.
Sam Allardyce was appointed as manager of Leeds following the dismissal of Javi Gracia, with four matches left to play.
At the time of his appointment, Leeds were in 17th place, outside of the relegation zone on goal difference.
He picked up just one point from those matches and left the club by mutual consent after their relegation was confirmed on the final day.
Meanwhile, Leeds winger Tyler Roberts is set for a medical at Birmingham City today after the clubs agreed on a £500,000 fee with add-ons for the Wales international.
