Arsenal told price for Maddison
Leicester City are preparing themselves for the departure of James Maddison this summer should Arsenal stump up the cash which the Foxes are demanding for their talismanic midfielder.
The former Norwich City man has garnered interest from Arsenal due to their need for creativity at a higher level being added to their team.
Chance creation has been a big problem for Mikel Arteta during his tenure, Maddison would certainly add to the solutions to the issue.
However Arsenal are still some way off Leicester’s valuation of the player.
The Foxes want more than 60 million pounds for Maddison but have now identified a possible replacement.
Lingard the man for Rodgers
In the events that James Madison does leave the King Power stadium this summer then Brendan Rodgers has decided to target Manchester United’s Jesse Lingard according to football.london.
Lingard had a stellar End to his 2020/21 season on loan with West Ham. His goals helped the Hammers qualify for European football alongside Leicester and only just a point behind.
Lingard’s future is still unsure at United with Bruno Fernandes and Donny van de Beek the main options in attacking midfield.
Yet Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has hinted that he sees Lingard as part of his plans for the season.
“Adding these extra players – Jesse coming back, Jadon [Sancho] coming in, Anthony [Martial] being fit again – gives us a lot more to work with,” he said.
Yet a 60 million pound windfall for Leicester may mean their offer convinces United to move on from Lingard and recoup some of that spent on Sancho and Raphael Varane.
