Leicester City are discussing a deal for Thanawat Suengchitthawon.
The former France Under 17 international, now 20, is an attacking midfielder who is out of contract at French side Nancy.
Brendan Rodgers will be keen to add depth to his squad next term, especially with Champions League football looking a very strong possibility for his high flying Foxes side.
Although Suengchitthawon has yet to play a senior game for Nancy, his loss would be seen as a blow for the French side who are also poised to lose Gauthier Ott to Borussia Monchengladbach.
The move would come as a boost for Rodgers after seemingly missing out on another youngster in Bulgarian Filip Krastev, who looks set to join Manchester City.
Elsewhere, Blackburn Rovers are drawing up an offer for Sunderland goalkeeper Jon McLaughlin, 32, who is out of contract at the end of this month.
