Leicester City are in talks over a £6million deal for Denmark U21 international Victor Kristiansen.
The Foxes are targeting the FC Copenhagen left-back as a result of their availability crisis in defence, with James Justin, Jonny Evans, Ricardo Pereira and Ryan Bertrand all out through injury.
The 20-year-old has played 24 matches for the Danish side across all competitions this campaign, with six appearances coming in the Champions League.
Brendan Rodgers' side remained rooted in 13th place just two points above the drop zone after their disappointing 1-0 defeat by Fulham on Tuesday, as Aleksandar Mitrovic netted his 11th goal of the campaign for the visitors.
Despite a handful of fruitful campaigns at the King Power, Rodgers has struggled to carve out results this season and holds one of the worst defensive records in the league, conceding 31 goals in 18 matches.
Leicester are also leading the race to sign Morocco's World Cup star Azzedine Ounahi from Ligue 1 outfit Angers.
The 22-year-old's arrival at the King Power would cast doubt over the long-term future of Belgian international Youri Tielemans, who started against the Cottagers after being left on the bench at Liverpool.
With Ounahi and Kristiansen on their transfer shortlist, it is clear that the Foxes are targeting youthful stars in the bid to discover a talent for the future.
Kristiansen has represented his country at youth level since his debut for the U16s as a 15-year-old and has since made eight appearances for the U21 side.
