Trio of clubs monitoring Tielemans
After he impressed on loan during the second half of the 2018/19 campaign, Leicester signed Youri Tielemans permanently in the summer of 2019.
The Foxes are believed to have paid French outfit AS Monaco around £40m to bring the midfielder to the King Power.
The Belgian has since established himself as a key cog in Brendan Rodgers’ side, notching 112 appearances in all competitions, across which he has scored 18 and assisted 19.
It was the 2020/21 campaign, though, which saw Tielemans produce arguably his best football in a Leicester shirt.
Despite largely operating in a deep midfield role, the former Anderlecht talent managed to chip in with nine goals and six assists, including the winner for Leicester in the FA Cup final vs Chelsea.
On the back of his superb campaign last time out, Tielemans found himself linked with Liverpool over the summer.
No transfer would in the end be forthcoming during the latest transfer window.
However, it still looks as though several top European clubs are interested in Tielemans.
According to Fabrizio Romano, as cited by Spanish outlet AS, several top-level clubs are already interested in Tielemans to strengthen their midfield, with Real Madrid, Barcelona and Manchester United all said to be monitoring the situation.
Papy Mendy to Galatasaray
Whilst Tielemans looks to be staying put until at least January, another Leicester midfield could depart the club today.
The Leicester Mercury are reporting that Papy Mendy could be set to depart the King Power on loan for Turkish outfit, Galatasaray:
Papy Mendy could seal a last-minute exit from Leicester City with the midfielder on course to join Galatasaray on a year-long loan.
This of course comes with the Turkish transfer window still open until 23:59 on Wednesday evening.
