Cristiano Ronaldo and Gonzalo Higuain were on target for Juventus as Bayer Leverkusen's Champions League campaign ended with a 2-0 loss at the BayArena on Wednesday.
Juve star Ronaldo scored his 28th goal in 26 Champions League appearances against German clubs in the 75th minute, before Higuain picked out the bottom-right corner in stoppage time.
Maurizio Sarri's side had already wrapped up top spot in Group D and the fact the hosts were the only team with something to play for was evidenced by them having the best chances of the opening period.
But Leverkusen – who would have exited the competition even if they had won due to Atletico Madrid's 2-0 victory over Lokomotiv Moscow – succumbed to Ronaldo and Higuain after the restart and dropped into the Europa League with defeat.

Diaby with a superb strike, but it hits the outside of the post and goes wide! The winger cuts inside from the left wing and then unleashes a powerful strike towards Buffon's goal and the keeper wasn't getting anywhere near it. However, luckily for Juve, it strikes the woodwork.

Ronaldo has the ball in the back of the net, but it's instantly ruled out for offside. Bernardeschi couldn't play the ball through the Leverkusen backline quickly enough and Ronaldo is caught offside. However, it was a lovely finish by the striker, slotting the ball into the bottom right-hand corner.

Juventus finally get the breakthrough goal and they lead 1-0! Dybala is played through on goal deep down the left and he squares the ball into the penalty area for Ronaldo, who was sprinting up alongside him and he just taps the ball in from a couple of yards out.

Higuain doubles his sides lead and makes it 2-0 late on! The striker plays a quick one-two with Dybala on the edge of the penalty area and then lashes the ball into the bottom right-hand corner of the net, giving Hradecky no chance of saving that.
