16' GOAL! Liverpool 1-0 Tottenham (Firmino)

GOOOAAALLL!!! LIVERPOOL 1-0 TOTTENHAM! Liverpool open the scoring through the first on-target attempt of the contest. The hosts' two full-backs have been given plenty of space so far - a big disadvantage of Tottenham's 3-5-2 formation - and Robertson makes the most of it. Firmino gets between Vertonghen and Sanchez to meet Robertson's delivery, heading the ball into the ground and past Lloris.

56' Alisson denies Kane before Robertson blocks Eriksen's follow up

INCREDIBLE BLOCK! Kane's powerful shot is parried by Alisson into the path of Eriksen. The Denmark playmaker gets a shot away from 12 yards but Robertson pounces on him in a flash and it deflects behind for a corner. That is by far and away Tottenham's best opportunity of the match so far.

70' GOAL! Liverpool 1-1 Tottenham (Lucas)

GOOOOAAALLL!!! LIVERPOOL 1-1 TOTTENHAM! What a huge goal this could be not just in the title picture but also in the race for a top-four finish. Kane's quick thinking pays off as his diagonal free-kick from deep is brought under control by Trippier towards the right and fed to Eriksen, who rolls it across to Lucas to finish from close range.

90' GOAL! Liverpool 2-1 Tottenham (Toby own goal)

GOOOOOOAAAALLL!!! LIVERPOOL 2-1! LIVERPOOL HAVE SURELY SNATCHED THE VICTORY!! Tottenham defend the corner but the ball comes back into the box. Salah heads it across goal, Lloris fails to keep hold of it and Alderweireld is the unfortunate player as the ball hits him and trickles over the line.

Match Reports

Liverpool were given a gift in the Premier League title race when a mistake from Hugo Lloris handed them a dramatic 2-1 win over Tottenham at Anfield on Sunday.

Lucas Moura's second-half goal cancelled out Roberto Firmino's opener to leave the Reds behind Manchester City on goal difference, only for Toby Alderweireld to turn the ball into his own net in the 90th minute when Lloris failed to hold a Mohamed Salah header.

With City beating Fulham comfortably on Saturday, Jurgen Klopp's side were in need of a positive result to keep the pressure on the champions, who play again at home to Cardiff City on Wednesday.
