Match Report
Jurgen Klopp, who returned after testing positive for COVID-19 at the start of January, fielded an inexperienced Liverpool squad who went behind after 27 minutes.
Shrewsbury forward Daniel Udoh sent the away fans wild when he got on the end of a dangerous low cross from Nathanael Ogbeta.
However, the lead was short-lived as Kaide Gordon showed great composure to bring Liverpool level. Gordon made the most of a clever pass from Conor Bradley to fire the ball into the back of the net, to become Liverpool's second-youngest goalscorer at 17 years-old.
Just before half time, Shrewsbury conceded a penalty when Ethan Ebanks-Landell handled the ball in the penalty box.
With Mohamed Salah at the Africa Cup of Nations, Fabinho stepped up to the spot and sent Shrewsbury 'keeper Marko Marosi the wrong way.
