Liverpool fans want to avoid Dortmund more than Madrid in UCL draw

Liverpool will learn their Champions League group stage opponents when the draw takes place today.

The Reds, as holders of the title, are in Pot 1 along with Man City, Barcelona and other European giants.

Liverpool cannot face Spurs who are the second Pot, but they will meet up with one of Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Dortmund, Napoli, Shaktar Donetsk, Ajax* or Benfica.

We put two questions to Reds fans in our live blog yesterday - which team would you most like and who would you least like to play from Pot 2?

The results were interesting... especially when it came to Real Madrid.

Benfica were the team the biggest proportion of Kopites want to draw, with 32% opting for the Portuguese side. Next was Shaktar Donetsk with 24%.

In third place, though, was Real Madrid.

23% of respondents were eyeing a rematch after the heartbreak of Kiev last year.

In terms of who supporters do not want to play, Atletico Madrid were the clear winners with 39% of the vote.

Real Madrid were next with 25%, indicating that fans are fairly torn between the chance for revenge and wanting to avoid the Spanish side.

Dortmund came next, with 12% seeking to swerve a reunion with Jurgen Klopp's former club.
