Liverpool 'seeking information as they attempt to sign 12-goal striker for free'

Liverpool are reportedly keen on German attacker Max Kruse.

According to Sport1 in Germany, Liverpool have joined Bayern Munich in the race to sign Werder Bremen striker Max Kruse on a free transfer.

Another striker may be wanted, as Daniel Sturridge is set to leave on a free transfer, whilst Divock Origi's future remains unclear despite a strong end to the campaign.

Finding a striker to come in and play second fiddle to Roberto Firmino may be a struggle, but Jurgen Klopp may have found a bargain solution.

Werder Bremen are allowing their veteran striker to leave on a free transfer when his contract expires next month, and after racking up 12 goals and 14 assists this past season, he's attracting attention.

He has bags of experience at 31, he had a great record this season, he's available for absolutely nothing, and he'd surely jump at a move to play under Klopp at Anfield in what could be a perfect move.

Add in that he's predominantly played as a false nine, deep-lying forward or even number 10 in Germany, and he appears to be the ideal player to help Firmino in that central role in the Liverpool attack, so fans should certainly hope that Klopp can beat Bayern to Kruse's signature.
