Liverpool 'to set high price amid Arsenal & Tottenham interest in Joe Gomez'

  /  autty

Liverpool are expected to play hardball over reported interest from Arsenal and Tottenham in defender Joe Gomez.

Gomez is reportedly considering a move away from Anfield after finding playing time hard to come by.

He has been kept out of the Liverpool team by the form of Joel Matip at centre-back and Trent Alexander-Arnold at centre-back.

Gomez could play against Tottenham at Anfield on Sunday if Matip doesn't recover from injury in time.

However, Lovren was preferred by manager Jurgen Klopp for Wednesday's Champions League win over Genk, with Gomez only getting to come on when Andy Robertson hobbled off in the second half.

Now Gomez is considering leaving Liverpool in search of more game time, and Arsenal and Tottenham are both interested, according to 90min .

Arsenal are still suffering from defensive issues, while Tottenham look set to lose Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld next summer - and a move to a top club from his native London would no doubt be attractive to Gomez if he feels he must move from Anfield.

90min also reports that there would also be plenty of interest from across the continent in Gomez.

However, with Liverpool flying high at the top of the Premier League they are in a strong position to play hardball and avoid selling to a rival.
