Liverpool players and staff have been enjoying a couple of days downtime since draw with Arsenal but fallout around Trent Alexander-Arnold reaction continues to rumble on

Liverpool are enjoying some downtime and a chance to continue celebrating their Premier League triumph, with Arne Slot and Virgil van Dijk among those seen enjoying life abroad since the weekend draw against Arsenal.

But closer to home the fallout from fans' furious reaction to Trent Alexander-Arnold rumbles on with a Manchester United legend now saying Jamie Carragher must accept some blame because he was "stirring up" supporters with his comments about the departing defender who is set to sign for Real Madrid as a free agent this summer.

Reports suggest his replacement is already being lined up with Bayer Leverkusen's £30m-valued Jeremie Frimpong said to have held talks in recent days, while second-choice goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher is being linked with a switch to a Premier League rival.

Here are the stories from in and around Anfield with only two games remaining in their title-winning campaign.

Frimpong fee

Liverpool have held 'advanced talks' with Bayer Leverkusen full-back Jeremie Frimpong as they seek to replace the outgoing Trent Alexander-Arnold. Frimpong has seen his stock rise in Germany and the Reds are considering him as a summer signing.

Those at Anfield are having to fill the huge void left by Alexander-Arnold, who has allowed his contract to wind down ahead of an imminent move to Real Madrid. Frimpong has excelled in a Leverkusen outfit that claimed the Bundesliga and German Cup double last term.

The 24-year-old, who can play as a conventional right-back and as a wing-back, is planning to leave the Bundealiga side this summer and that is made easier by a release clause in his contract. Sky Germany reports that Liverpool could land him for just under £30million.

Kelleher told to leave

Caoimhin Kelleher is being eyed by Leeds United with the second-choice goalkeeper being urged to move so he is playing regularly by national team boss Heimir Hallgrimsson.

Kelleher is Ireland's No1 at the moment and Leeds, who have sealed their promotion back to the top flight, are reportedly eager to make a move this summer.

And Hallgrimsson said: "I just want Caoimhin to go to a club where he will play. He has been playing at the highest level. Champions League, Premier League, done really well. I just want him to be happy and play regularly. I don't mind where he goes so long as he is playing on a regular basis, he is too good not to be playing.''

Yorke criticism

Dwight Yorke has accused Jamie Carragher of "stirring up" Liverpool fans by criticising Trent Alexander-Arnold's decision to leave Anfield, insisting the Sky Sports pundit doesn't understand the allure of being chased by Real Madrid. The 26-year-old angered Liverpool supporters by revealing he was leaving his boyhood club last week, with many claiming he was disloyal.

The right-back felt the wrath of those home supporters at Anfield on Sunday after being booed as he was brought on as a substitute during the team's 2-2 draw against Arsenal.

Supporters aimed two digs at Alexander-Arnold as they sang chants of "There's only one Conor Bradley", in reference to the academy prospect who is set to succeed him long-term, while fans also sang their iconic song about Steven Gerrard to goad him.

And Yorke believes Carragher should accept some blame for the reaction.
