With the Reds leading the competition in Expected Goals this term, their dynamic front-three may well hold the key in Munich this week
The UEFA Champions League heats up again this week as we discover the last quarter-finalists – and Liverpool’s attacking trio appear set to hit a hot streak.
Roberto Firmino, Mo Salah and Sadio Mane lit up the competition last term, hitting a whopping 10 goals each as they inspired Jurgen Klopp’s side all the way to the final.
And this week, they head to Munch to face Bayern knowing they possess the fire power to inspire another famous European night for the club.
The Reds have the highest Expected Goals of any team in the tournament so far and Salah leads the UCL for touches in the opposition penalty box.
And with Firmino leading Liverpool for passes in the final third, the Brazilian – who bagged eight assists in the competition last season – will no doubt have Bayern concerned by his movement from his starting position, and by that of Salah and Mane as they look to rush on and exploit the gaps.
