Reports suggested that Besiktas had asked Liverpool to take Loris Karius back in January. But the goalkeeper's two-year spell on loan at the Turkish club will not be cut short.
However, the ECHO understands that's not the case and there has been no dialogue on the subject between the clubs.
Even if Besiktas were looking to off-load Karius, there is no option in the deal which was struck back in August for the loan to be terminated early.
Liverpool agreed an initial two-year loan for a fee of £2.25million. Besiktas are obligated to buy the German shot-stopper for a further £7.25million in 2020 if certain performance criteria are met. These are related to appearances and Besiktas qualifying for Europe.
Karius headed to Besiktas on a mission to get his career back on track after his Champions League final nightmare against Red Madrid was followed by Liverpool's £65million swoop for Alisson Becker.
He has held down the No 1 spot for Besiktas so far this season and the club have given Liverpool no indication that they are unhappy with his form.
As well as sending back Karius, reports in Turkey suggested that Besiktas want to sign Reds striker Divock Origi initially on loan.
Liverpool are open to off-loading the Belgium international in January but will only consider bids in excess of £20million. Origi has yet to make an appearance for the Reds this season after returning from a loan spell at Wolfsburg.
