Manchester United full-back Luke Shaw spread a little festive cheer at the club's Carrington training complex on Monday by buying staff a Harrod's hamper each.
The 24-year-old ordered around 50 of the gift baskets worth over £250 each, filled with luxury items from the famous Knightsbridge store.
Shaw has taken it upon himself in recent years to treat the support staff at United in a show of appreciation for the work done behind scenes.
He bought around 30 hampers from Harrods last year and the year before from Fortnum and Mason but, with increasing staff numbers, showed his generosity once again by splashing out over £12,500 on the Christmas gifts this time around.
One staff insider said: 'Fair play, it's really good of him. He's done it a few years now and it's certainly gone down very well with everyone. It's a nice touch, he doesn't have to do it and, looking at the hampers, they won't come cheap.'
Shaw, who signed a new contract last year understood to be worth around £165,000 a week, has recently returned to United's first team after injury and is expected to figure in the EFL Cup quarter final against Colchester United on Wednesday.
