Maguire misses Man Utd for pre-season tour of America due to ‘personal matter’

HARRY MAGUIRE has not travelled with the Manchester United squad to the United States due to a personal matter.

The Red Devils are flying out to Chicago today to kickstart their Premier League Summer Series pre-season tour.

However, they will not be joined by the 32-year-old England international, at least for the time being.

Maguire is not travelling with the rest of Ruben Amorim's squad today due to a personal matter.

Although it is hoped he will be able to link up with the team later in the trip.

Amorim is bringing 32 players on the plane for the pre-season tour across the pond.

That includes high-profile new signings Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo, with the latter being announced yesterday following a £71million transfer from Brentford.

Cunha, who arrived from Wolves for £62.5m in June, travels despite the recent birth of his second child.

Meanwhile, Lisandro Martinez has been included in the travelling party but is not fit enough to feature or even train fully during the trip.

Man Utd's "bomb squad" - Alejandro Garnacho, Jadon Sancho, Tyrell Malacia and Antony - have all been left behind to allow them to pursue moves elsewhere before next summer's World Cup.

Marcus Rashford would have also been left behind, but he is now in Spain on the verge of completing a loan transfer to Barcelona.
