Man City advance Anderson pursuit as Forest owner keeps transfer talks from coach

According to talkSPORT, there has been a new development in Manchester City's pursuit of Elliot Anderson, with a deal still possible.

talkSPORT previously reported that Manchester City was close to signing Nottingham Forest's Elliot Anderson. Anderson was Manchester City's top transfer target, and they had made two offers before the World Cup, both rejected by Forest, with the highest reaching £121 million.

Although Manchester City's latest offer of £106 million plus £15 million in add-ons was again rejected by Forest, Anderson has made clear his eagerness to move to the Etihad Stadium.

Despite Forest's high asking price, Manchester City has remained optimistic since May that they would eventually agree on a transfer fee.

Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis has been personally handling negotiations and has kept the transfer discussions hidden from other club staff, including head coach Vítor Pereira.
