Manchester City will celebrate the historic fourth Premier League title with a parade on Sunday – irrespective of the outcome of the FA Cup final.
Pep Guardiola’s side have the chance of completing another domestic Double against cross-town rivals Manchester United at Wembley on Saturday.
Even if they were to lose that, City’s squad will embark on an open top bus parade from the National Football Museum and along the length of Deansgate.
The celebration is expected to start at around 7:30pm on a day the city centre is also hosting a marathon. The scheduled route is similar to 2022, which ended at Beetham Tower.
Guardiola maintained on Sunday that City have proven themselves as the best team in the history of English football and gave his stars two days off in the wake of clinching the title with victory over West Ham.
They partied until the early hours of Monday morning. After a drinks reception at the Etihad Stadium, Guardiola’s squad went on to new Greek restaurant Fenix in the city centre, finishing up at around 5am.
The likes of Kevin De Bruyne, Erling Haaland, Rodri, and Jack Grealish were all pictured enjoying the evening’s revelry with their families. Ederson was spotted clutching a £140 bottle of Tignanello Antinori after the sun had come up.
And the party is set to continue after the FA Cup final, with City’s parades usually seeing 100,000 fans line the streets.
‘Congratulations to Manchester City. Being crowned Premier League champions once again and for an astonishing fourth year in a row is an incredible achievement,’ Councillor Bev Craig, Leader of Manchester City Council, said.
‘It shows once again that Manchester's world class sporting credentials really are second to none.
‘We know how much this means to fans of the club young and old - not just in Manchester but around the globe - and the homecoming parade on Sunday promises to be an unmissable night to remember for fans and players alike as they celebrate this historic title win together.’
