Manchester City transfer news
In this article we will bring you all the Manchester City transfer news. Make sure to check back tomorrow for more updates.
Spurs’ Kane stance
This is turning out to be one of the transfer sagas of the summer and it could go on until the latter stages with reports emerging that Manchester City have no intention of dropping their interest in Harry Kane.
However Spurs are remaining stubborn about the situation and both Daniel Levy and Fabio Paratici are intent on him remaining at the club.
Charlie Eccleshare says the contract that Kane is on is the biggest barrier to the move giving the north London side full control of his future.
But despite Kane and City wanting the deal to happen, they are powerless to an extent because of the six-year deal the striker signed in 2018. The three years still remaining give Levy and Tottenham the upper hand, unless City come in with a stratospheric offer.
Juventus prioritise Jesus
Juventus are on the look out for a striker this summer and supposedly Brazilian forward Gabriel Jesus has jumped to the top of the queue.
Having scored 50 goals in 131 appearances for City and now 24 years of age, much is still expected of the forward. However, with Pep Guardiola often preferring a false 9 system without an out-and-out striker, Jesus’ future is not stable.
Harry Kane’s possible arrival complicates things further for Jesus and City may be open to a sale to help raise funds for the England captain.
Cristiano Ronaldo’s presence and likelihood to remain in Turin however may mean the deal doesn’t happen but it is one to monitor for now.
Barca’s Moriba latest
Barcelona youngster Ilaix Moriba’s future is still unresolved and looks to be away from Catalonia now.
Both Manchester City and Chelsea are interested in the 18-year-old. However, Fichajes report that the Citizens have the better offer on the table right now.
Both Chelsea and Manchester City have made interesting approaches with the player’s environment, and the proposals that have been transferred to him are more than convincing, especially that of the citizen team.
The reported demands are of around €6 million a season for a player still very unproven at the top level but the hype around him seems to be enough to garner interest and discussion around that price point.
