Bayern Munich star Alphonso Davies could not believe that Harry Maguire got the Manchester United captain's armband over Cristiano Ronaldo.
Maguire has faced heavy criticism for his below-par displays at the club. He has made a number of high-profile mistakes in what has been a tumultuous season, with the club currently set to miss out on Champions League qualification for next season.
Some fans have called for Maguire to have the captaincy taken away from him at Old Trafford and reports emerged earlier in the season that an unnamed team-mate had questioned former manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's call to hand him the armband.
But both Solskjaer and interim boss Ralf Rangnick have resisted the urge to hand the captaincy over to star forward and United legend Ronaldo.
However, Canada international Davies could not understand the decision and insisted the five-time Ballon d'Or should be the Red Devils' skipper.
Davies was playing FIFA 22 on streaming service Twitch when he got Maguire in a pack.
It spurred him into a mini rant, savaging the England international, as, in almost disbelief, he said: 'Can you guys imagine. Can you guys imagine...'
He then turned down his music and continued: 'You are Ronaldo… One of the greatest players ever. And whats his name is your captain? Harry Maguire is your captain?
'And you refer to him as "yes cap". I don't know what he says to him. Bro. I'm not dissing Harry Maguire but Ronaldo… Ronaldo should get the armband man.'
The £80million man has faced an onslaught of criticism for his performances this season and become an unwanted poster boy for United's troubles.
To make matters worse, a section of Three Lions fans jeered Maguire's name when it was read out ahead of England's recent friendly at Wembley.
But former United star Wayne Rooney recently backed Maguire, insisting that he can be a big part of the Red Devils regaining their confidence.
The Derby manager said during Monday Night Football on Sky Sports: 'I like Harry (Maguire). I know him personally.
'He hasn't been in his best form this season as a lot of players haven't. He goes and plays for England and looks like a world-class centre-back.
'Again a lot of it is confidence. The players need to feel winning again and winning consistently to get that confidence back. If they do that, I think Harry can be a big part of it.'
