UFC legend Khabib Nurmagomedov has claimed he will speak with Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo about his future at the club.
The Portugal international's romantic return to Old Trafford hasn't quite gone to plan and he has been linked with a summer move as he grows increasingly frustrated with his side's disappointing season.
Khabib is close friends with the 37-year-old and revealed he received a heads-up on the forward's last two transfers months in advance.
The Russian said he intends to quiz the Red Devils star over his future but admitted he hoped Ronaldo will stay at United.
'I'm going to talk with him,' Khabib told Sky Sports. 'I remember when he moved from Real Madrid, he told me a couple of months before he moved.
'When he moved from Juventus, he told me, but I don't go to media. I am not a journalist!
'I'm going to ask him. Honestly, I want him to stay.'
Ronaldo is United's top goalscorer this season but has failed to find the net in their last six games - his longest drought since 2009.
But Khabib insisted Ronaldo can still have a big impact for his side and claimed that the Red Devils will pose a problem for their rivals next season.
'He became 37-years old, this is not his best age. But even how he plays, I think he affects the whole team. It's very good,' he added .
'His energy, his experience, his advice. They have a very good, strong team. A young team. Next year, they will do a very good job.
'Right now, there are so any new players, they don't connect well.
'Next year, I think Manchester United will be a big problem for all clubs.'
United are unlikely to win anything this season and facing a battle to finish in the top four, which has led to Ronaldo being linked with a move away this summer if they fail to qualify for next season's Champions League.
His agent Jorge Mendes held talks with United chief Richard Arnold over the team's inconsistent form, according to The Sun.
And they say there would be no shortage of interest in signing the £500,000-a-week star, with PSG the most likely option but a reunion with ex-Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho at Roma an intriguing possibility.
