Manchester United could be facing another Paul Pogba situation with Ole Gunnar's Solskjaer's side keen to re-sign Dwight McNeil.
According to the Sun, the Red Devils are monitoring the 19-year-old who is excelling at Burnley.
McNeil was axed from United's academy at the age of 14, but five years later it appears that the Old Trafford outfit are beginning to regret that decision.
Burnley value the England Under 21 international at £35million and would be reluctant to sell the left midfielder.
The teenager, who is a United supporter, has been watched plenty of times by United's scouts - including Burnley's 4-2 home defeat by Chelsea last month - a match he scored in.
Speaking about his release from United's academy, McNeil revealed it was partly due to his lack of dead-ball skills.
'I was released by Man United when I was 14,' he told the Sun in October.
'Funnily enough, one of the reasons I got released was because my set- pieces weren't the best.
'It was quite an upsetting time for me. I was still at school as well, I was still learning.
'I came to Burnley, got put on a six-week trial and signed just before the end of the season.
'I'm a Man United fan, despite what happened. I'll always be a Man United fan. I just wasn't up to their standards.'
If McNeil did re-join United he would follow in the footsteps of Pogba who left United in 2012 for Juventus, before being re-signed in a club-record £89m buy.
