Man United name a sixth 'unsellable' star in the summer transfer window

The amount of players that Manchester United will not entertain offers for this summer has increased to six.

It is expected to be a summer of significant change at Old Trafford, with Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS eager to ensure that United are well prepared for next season.

In addition to potential incomings, there are also likely to be a lot of departures from the club this summer.

However, there are some players that United won't consider selling under any circumstances.

It emerged this week that United will persist with Erik ten Hag as manager despite there having previously been much speculation over his future.

It had already emerged that United will not sell Rasmus Hojlund, Kobbie Mainoo, Alejandro Garnacho and Andre Onana.

As reported by The Mirror, United will also not consider selling Diogo Dalot and Lisandro Martinez.

Many of the names on the list are unsurprising - Hojlund only joined United last year and is a player with much potential, while midfielder Mainoo is one of the brightest prospects in England.

Garnacho, meanwhile, has already established himself as a key player for United at just 19 years of age.

Dalot was one of United's most consistent performers last season and Martinez, who endured problems with injuries last campaign, is also a hugely important player.

Onana made some errors at times but retains the faith of ten Hag and is very much installed as United's first-choice goalkeeper.

United currently only have a budget of around £40million to £50million, which can only be supplemented by player sales.

Despite captain Bruno Fernandes being one of United's most reliable players, the club would consider offers for the Portuguese midfielder, especially if a Saudi Pro League were willing to pay up to £80million for him.

Academy products Scott McTominay and Marcus Rashford could be sold for pure profit under the Premier League's profit and sustainability rules.

There have already been some departures from United announced this summer, with Anthony Martial, Raphael Varane and Brandon Williams all leaving when their contracts expire at the end of this month.
