Man United send scouts to watch Chelsea reject as Harry Kane drops major Tottenham contract hint

Harry Kane is entering the final year of his current contract at Tottenham Hotspur and has been linked with a shock move to Premier League rivals Manchester United this summer

United scouts have been spotted ‘several times’ at Roma games to watch Abraham this season. The former Blues striker has an €80million (£70million) buyback clause in his contract that would allow Chelsea to bring him back to west London this summer.

The 25-year-old striker moved to Italy and joined Roma in a £34m move two years ago and that clause will complicate things for United. That is because Mourinho's side would have to let Chelsea know of any bids they receive from other clubs for Abraham - whilst giving the Italian outfit a strong bargaining position regarding a fee for their star striker.

Kane has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford this summer, but the Tottenham star has hinted that he will hold further talks with Spurs chairman Levy about his future.

“I feel like those conversations will happen toward the end about how we can improve,” Kane said in a recent interview. Ten Hag has reiterrated his desire to sign a new striker this summer with Wout Weghorst struggling to fill the void left by Ronaldo.

“Yeah, I think everyone knows,” he said when asked if a new No.9 will be his priority. “It’s not a secret that over the whole season we had a shortage of No.9s.

“First, we had the dropout of [Cristiano] Ronaldo, then Antony Martial was often not available, Jadon Sancho was often not available, then you have a shortage of frontline players. With less players we have to cover many games, so definitely we need in the frontline players who strengthen the squad.

"You can approach that from many ways. The typical No.9, Rashford can also play very good as a No. 9 and Anthony Martial is a great No.9.

“We have players who can play in that role. But, definitely, we need some offensive players who are really impact players, quality players, who improve the frontline.”

Kane will likely want to remain in the Premier League as he chases down Alan Shearer's goalscoring record, meaning United may be his only option if he was to leave Spurs this summer. However, Abraham would prove to be a cheaper alternative to the Tottenham star - whilst Victor Osimhen has also been linked with a switch to Old Trafford.
