Chelsea fans jeered and booed Marc Cucurella during Wednesday night's Carabao Cup clash against Wimbledon as the defender closes in on a move away from the club.
The Spaniard was making his first start of the season for the Blues, but faced a backlash from the Stamford Bridge crowd as he warmed up for the game against the League Two side.
Cucurella has been the subject of a bid from Manchester United, as the Red Devils look to secure a loan deal for the 25-year-old before Friday's transfer deadline.
Erik ten Hag has identified Cucurella as his top target as he looks to bolster the left-back position following injuries to both Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia.
The defender only arrived in west London last summer in a £55m deal from Brighton, but has so far failed to replicate the same form he showed on the south coast.
He is yet to play a Premier League minute under new boss Mauricio Pochettino, with the Chelsea gaffer opting for Ben Chilwell and Ian Maatsen in his position.
United's initial offer of a £2m loan fee for Cucurella was rebuffed by the Blues, with the club looking for a fee more in the region of £5m but talks are on going and expected to be completed before the deadline.
Despite the negative reaction from the home crowd, Cucurella and Chelsea did manage to squeeze past Wimbledon, with a 2-1 win, thanks to goals from Noni Madueke and Enzo Fernandez.
