Manchester United youngster Kieran O'Hara has been called up to the senior Republic of Ireland side for the upcoming set of international fixtures.

The United youngster, who is currently on loan at Burton Albion, has been promoted to the senior side for their upcoming matches against Switzerland and Bulgaria.

The United youngster shone while on loan at Macclesfield last season where he helped the side stay in League Two and picked up the club's Player of the Year award.

O'Hara has started the season well again during his spell at Burton, and speaking earlier in the year he encouraged other youngsters to explore temporary deals away from the club.

"In my case it has helped me a lot to develop me not only as a player, but as a person," O'Hara told MEN Sport. "I would definitely encourage any young player to go out on loan and prove themselves.

"They need to learn the trade at another club and give themselves regular game time. I believe that not only the more you play the better you will get, but the quicker you are going to develop.

"It will help me reach the level that I want to reach, and will have me develop so that I can play at the highest level."
