Man Utd, Madrid or Barca? Where Bayern winger Coman will end up next season

  /  DearNeuer

Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman has been in fantastic form for the Bundesliga side since recovering from injury.

In his last four Bundesliga games, the France international has bagged two goals and against Benfica last week he also picked up an assist in a fantastic 5-2 victory in the Champions League.

However, while Coman may seem perfectly content in Bavaria, the winger’s contract is set to expire in 2023 and as such reports have run wild with speculation linking him with a move away from Bayern in January or next summer.

So where could Coman end up in the coming transfer windows, or will he in fact stay put at Bayern?

Real Madrid

Real Madrid are in the process of rebuilding their squad and apparently Coman could become a vital part of that plan.

According to Defensa Central, the Spanish giants are prepared to offer €35 million to sign the winger in January, as Carlo Ancelotti & Co. see the France international has an ideal long-term replacement to Eden Hazard and Gareth Bale.

However, if Madrid want the winger they’ll likely have to cough up more than €35m. Which may be a serious issue for the financial strapped club.

Manchester United

Coman has been linked with a move to Man Utd for as long as Jadon Sancho was and while the Borussia Dortmund star may have eventually ended up at Old Trafford it seems far more unlikely for his French counterpart.

For a start, Man Utd already have a number of players that already play in Coman’s position - most notably Marcus Rashford - and the Bayern player will likely look at the manner in which Sancho has been overlooked by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and wonder if a similar fate would await him too.

Barcelona

With a new manager at the helm, Barcelona have been linked with just about every player in Europe at this point, and that includes the Bayern star in question.

However, unlike Premier League rivals, Barca really are struggling to make ends meet this season and the idea that they would be able to afford Coman in January or in the summer window currently seems preposterous.

Bayern Munich

While Coman has been linked with a move to a number of Europe’s biggest clubs, the most likely future for the player is a new contract at Bayern and to remain a key figure at the club for the foreseeable future.

There’s no doubt that plenty has been written about the player’s desire to one day play in the Premier League, but almost all of it should be considered within the context of Coman first and foremost demanding a pay rise at Bayern.

While the German club are rather stringent with their wage bill, Bayern will likely realise that a replacement for Coman will cost far more than simply offering him the salary he demands.
