Manager Travis Binnion had hoped they would carry that momentum into their fixture at Leigh Sports Village on Wednesday.
However, Villarreal dominated for the get-go and hit the woodwork multiple times alongside their four goals.
The U19 Manchester United skipper Shola Shoretire also picked up a yellow card in what turned out to be a disappointing game.
Nevertheless, Manchester United first XI captain was there to show his support - cheering the U19's on from the stand.
