Manchester United and Arsenal are both interested in signing Olympiacos youngsters Babis Kostoulas and Christos Mouzakitis, but they are facing competition from the likes of Juventus and AC Milan
Manchester United and Arsenal are reportedly among a host of European clubs who are interested in Greek prospects Babis Kostoulas and Christos Mouzakitis. The two teenagers won the UEFA Youth League with Olympiacos' Under-19s last season and have broken into the first team this season.
17-year-old forward Kostoulas has scored six goals in 21 league appearances for Olympiacos, while 18-year-old midfielder Mouzakitis has been ever-present with 30 senior appearancez across all competitions.
Mouzakitis also made his international debut in November, coming off the bench against Finland, and featured in Greece's UEFA Nations League play-off victory over Scotland this month.
According to a report from the Sun, Kostoulas and Mouzakitis are attracting interest from a raft of clubs across Europe. United and Arsenal are said to be keeping tabs on the pair, while Aston Villa, Borussia Dortmund, AC Milan and Juventus are also interested in both players.
Bayern Munich, Chelsea and Tottenham are said to be eyeing a swoop for Kostoulas, while Mouzakitis is also on the radars of Atletico Madrid, Brighton, Villarreal and Wolves.
Kostoulas and Mouzakitis are not the only players that both United and Arsenal are interested in signing this summer, with Sporting Lisbon star Francisco Trincao also being targeted. United boss Ruben Amorim is understood to be keen on a reunion with the winger, having previously coached him at both Sporting and Braga.
United will be in the market for a winger, with Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho and Antony all expected to make permanent moves in the summer after they were allowed to leave Old Trafford on loan.
Arsenal, meanwhile, are also eyeing the 25-year-old as Mikel Arteta looks to strengthen his forward line. The Gunners have been found wanting in attack this season after the likes of Gabriel Jesus, Kai Havertz and Bukayo Saka all suffered serious injuries.
And Arteta admitted he was 'disappointed' by Arsenal's failure to bring in an attacker in the January transfer window. "We had a clear intention which is there is a window open," Arteta said last month.
"For the players that can impact it, we haven't achieved it. We are disappointed. But we are very aware that we only want to bring certain types of player.
"The intention the improve the squad if we have the capacity to do it. We focus in the things that we have to continue to do. It was a combination of things."
However, Arteta did admit their lack of signings in January should give them more scope this summer, adding: "An extra card! I don't know, what I mean about that is the means that can make us much better financially."
