Manchester United are confident teenager Amad Diallo will be able to join from Atalanta next month.

The winger, who will cost £37million once additional clauses are triggered, agreed the move in October but was left with the Serie A club until January.

United are in the process of securing a Governing Body Endorsement from the FA that will lead to the 18-year-old being granted a work permit.

Diallo has made one league appearance for Atalanta this season. United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has high hopes he will quickly progress at Old Trafford.

United are interested in 20-year-old Schalke central defender Ozan Kabak.

He is likely to cost around £25m, with Liverpool and RB Leipzig also in the frame.

Kabak is a younger, cheaper option than Leipzig's Dayot Upamecano, who was among United's preferred choices. He has a buy out clause, understood to be around £36.5m, but also has strong interest from Bayern Munich.

Meanwhile, United are maintaining a watching brief on Ecuador midfielder Moises Caicedo from Independiente del Valle.

The 19-year old has been scouted but reports of a £4.5m deal being agreed are premature.
