Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's reign at Manchester United is already being called into question in some quarters but for one Red Devils fan, Ole will always be at the wheel - on his leg at least.

The Norwegian United fan had his compatriot tattooed onto his upper-right thigh with a ship's wheel wrapped around his neck in tribute to United's shock victory over Paris Saint-Germain.

Tor Henrik Stensland posted a picture of his newly christened body art on Twitter, revealing that he was staying to true to his word having promised to get the tattoo if United pull of an improbable comeback at the Parc des Princes.

United were 2-0 down on aggregate after the first leg of their last-16 Champions League tie, but somehow Solskjaer inspired his players to pull off a stunning comeback with a 3-1 win in Paris.

Mr Stensland wrote on Twitter: 'Ole’s at the wheel! Before the away game vs PSG i tweeted that if Man Utd went through I would tattoo Solskjærs face inside a wheel. Well, I’m a man of my words. I went all in. Here’s the result. Enjoy.'

In a further tweet, he added: 'I really didn't want to have this on my body, but my artist did a hell of a job.'

That night in Paris has turned out to be the apogee of Solskjaer's tenure as since that remarkable night back in early March, things have turned sour for the former United striker.

The 46-year-old guided United to 14 wins from his first 17 matches in charge after replacing Jose Mourinho; but following his appointment on a permanent basis, results have taken a dramatic nosedive.
