Marcus Rashford has called upon Mason Greenwood to help keep Manchester red, after he helped set up a Carabao Cup semi-final against rivals Manchester City.
Rashford's goal in the second half broke the deadlock for Manchester United against a resolute Colchester United defence, and he was on hand to pressure defender Ryan Jackson into turning the ball into his own net to double United's lead minutes later. He then fed Anthony Martial to complete a 3-0 victory.
United's reward is a two-legged semi-final against City, who beat Oxford to join them in the last four. United were 2-1 winners earlier this month at the Etihad in the Premier League meeting, and will be full of confidence going into the two derby clashes.
Acknowledging the draw, Rashford took to Twitter to post a picture of himself saying something to Greenwood during Wednesday night's win, with the caption: "Up for keeping Manchester red mate?"
Rashford later tweeted he was 'bang up for another derby', describing the games as the 'best games to play. Best games to win' alongside a picture of him celebrating his recent goal at the Etihad.
Fans loved Rashford's early statement of intent, as they replied to his Tweet with messages of support.
One user , BejideYomi, said: "Love this mentality", while LJC_85 wrote: "Yes Rashy! That's what we like to see!"
"Love the brewing bromance," posted DMplusJ, and Isra2145 said: "THATS the spirit in the youth we trust. Rashford really is teaching the youth lets get it."
