Manchester United defender Ro-Shaun Williams is joining Shrewsbury Town on loan for the season.
The pacy 20-year-old has been brought into first team training under Louis van Gaal and Jose Mourinho in the past but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants him to pick up more competitive action.
Shrewsbury Town manager Sam Ricketts has watched Williams playing for United U23s and hopes he can make a difference in League One.
He could also figure in the squad that faces Wolves in the FA Cup on Tuesday.
Williams broke sprint champion Darren Campbell's 25-year 100 metre school record at Ashton-on-Mersey when he clocked 10.99 seconds and made his United reserves debut at just 16.
