Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek has reportedly completed his medical at Eintracht Frankfurt ahead of his proposed loan move to the German club.
Mail Sport revealed on Monday that he was due to have examinations this week, with the Dutchman set to leave Old Trafford until the end of the season, while Frankfurt will also have the option to buy Van De Beek permanently for £13m in the summer.
Van De Beek has now undergone his medical with no issues raised, according to Bild reporter Florian Plettenberg.
He has reported that 'a few small details' still need to be ironed out between Frankfurt and United, but there are not expected to be any problems, and the Bundesliga outfit hope to announce the signing of Van De Beek this week.
Van De Beek has made just two substitute appearances for United this term as his frustrating time at the club has continued under Erik ten Hag.
Having been signed for £40m in 2020, the 26-year-old had been expected to transform United's midfield after previously starring for Ajax, but his Premier League career has never taken off.
He has made just 62 appearances for United in over three years, scoring only two goals.
Van De Beek was loaned out to Everton in January 2022, yet was unable to get his career back on track as he was limited to seven appearances for the Toffees before returning to United.
There had been some hope that he could get more opportunities under Ten Hag after the pair worked well together at Ajax, but the Dutch manager has also been reluctant to use Van De Beek over the last 18 months.
Having slipped even further down the pecking order in recent months, Van De Beek admitted in November that he was ready to leave the Red Devils in search of regular first-team football.
He now looks set to be given that opportunity by Frankfurt, who play their final match before the Bundesliga winter break tonight against Borussia Monchengladbach.
They will then return to action on January 13 - which could be Van De Beek's first game - when they travel to RB Leipzig.
