Manchester United sent scouts to watch Crystal Palace flop Alexander Sorloth play at the weekend, according to reports.

United, Sheffield United, Sevilla and RB Leipzig all sent talent spotters along to watch the striker as he played for Trabzonspor in their 5-2 win over Rizespor in the Turkish top flight.

Sorloth failed to impress at Selhurst Park after a £9million move there in January 2018, not scoring once in his 16 Premier League appearances.

But he has shone since joining Trabzonspor on a two-year loan deal in the summer, scoring 24 goals and providing seven assists this campaign.

Trabzonspor have an option to sign him for just £6million in the summer due to a clause in their deal with Palace, according to the Sun.

And they will have a number of Premier League sides queuing to take him on if they want to make a speedy profit on him, according to Turkish outlet Fotomac.

Sorloth recently acknowledged the interest in him. He said: 'I have seen the rumours, there are so many, I have read them and keep being sent information about teams that are interested.

'However, I am only focused on Trabzonspor, there is a great team spirit here and we want to win the double.

'This is a great side, we play at the highest level and the team have really bonded together.

'It would be irresponsible and wrong to disrespectful to talk about transfers at this time.

'I am not going to do it, I am not getting involved, I am focused on the title race.'
